About This Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Key Account Manager to join our team in a home-based role, focusing on the Water Industry and Process Industry (Analytical Only). Reporting to the Sales Water Team Manager, Water & Utilities Industry, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an annual sales order budget of approximately £2 million.
Key Responsibilities:
* Expand existing business by investigating new and existing market potential, ensuring long-term growth and profitable sales revenues.
* Develop and regularly update sales and marketing strategies for target areas, sectors, products, and customers.
* Proactively build and maintain relationships with clients through regular face-to-face meetings, visits, and presentations.
* Identify appropriate products and solutions to meet customers’ requirements.
* Work with the proposals team to ensure timely and customer-focused quotations and supporting materials.
* Forecast sales activity for assigned areas, analyse variances to budget, and implement SMART actions to address any shortfall.
* Identify, drive, and manage new multi-million-pound Framework Agreement opportunities, overseeing the process from bid preparation through to negotiation, award, and rollout.
* Collaborate with colleagues across divisions to maximise selling potential in target accounts, utilising a unified strategy where possible.
* Uphold company values, adhering to the code of conduct, maintaining integrity, and prioritising health and safety at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
* We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in the Water and Process Industry, particularly in Analytical instrumentation, and a passion for driving sales growth and building client relationships.
* Degree/HND/HNC in Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic, or Chemical Engineering.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in IT, particularly with the MS Office suite.
* Full driving licence.
* Sales experience, preferably in negotiating and managing large-value Framework Agreements.
* Sales/management experience within a technical or instrumentation environment, particularly in utility or process industries.
* Results-oriented with a proactive approach.
* Strong ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
* Self-motivated and driven to achieve targets.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of gaining the trust and confidence of clients.
* Strong questioning and listening skills.
* Awareness of the commercial impact of technical decisions.
