Qualifications
As a minimum, you will need 4 or more GCSEs grades A-C (9-4) and a minimum of 2 A Levels or BTEC equivalent.
Level 3: You can study a BTEC Subsidiary or Extended Diploma in Construction & the Built Environment or Civil Engineering or an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering.
Level 4, 5 & 6: You can study a HNC, HND, Higher Apprenticeship or Degree in Construction and the Built Environment, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or other related subjects.
Salary
Newly trained structural engineers can earn £19,000 - £25,000.
Trained structural engineers with some experience can earn £25,000 - £45,000.
Senior, chartered or master structural engineers can earn £45,000 - £55,000.
