Post No. POSN003056 - Housing Technical Officer We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Environmental Health Housing team. The team is responsible for the regulation of the private rented sector, including Houses in Multiple Occupation, and resolving a range of domestic and commercial public health/environmental issues. You should hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including English. This post requires you to demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills, have a proven technical and practical experience in a relevant field, and have knowledge of Environmental Health Housing functions. It requires you to have a basic level of knowledge of building construction, defects, and remedies. You should be able to undertake revisits to dwellings to achieve compliance with schedules of work. This post requires you to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when dealing with people, be flexible, and have the ability to communicate with confidence. You will be capable of organising and prioritising work to meet deadlines and you will operate in a self-sufficient manner. The post holder will have problem solving and decision-making skills.
