Seeking a consultant psychiatrist for a full time position providing child and adolescent psychiatry services in a regional general hospital providing secondary medical services on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. Position Highlights Child, Adolescent and Family Service (CAFS) is the tertiary provider of mental health services to children and youth (0-18) in the Hawke’s Bay region join three Consultant Psychiatrists, a general practitioner and a psychiatric registrar your role will include: Diagnosis and treatment of a range of mental health conditions in children and adolescents, including neurodevelopmental disorder, mood disorders, eating disorders, psychoses and trauma-related presentations. work within a multidisciplinary team that includes cultural support workers (kaiāwhina), psychologists, social workers, occupational therapist, nurses, a dietitian, and liaison with paediatricians. collaborate with general practitioners, schools and Oranga Tamariki - the agency that has statutory responsibility for child welfare in New Zealand – non-government agencies and local iwi. engage with families and carers of patients. join the regional specialist child and adolescent psychiatry peer review group. access to CPD activities to meet ongoing registration requirements Professional Requirements FRANZCP or equivalent qualification accepted by the Medical Council of New Zealand Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry Benefits Competitive salary in accordance with ASMS MECA or IEA Additional allowances for on-call duties 6% employer contribution to pension scheme 6 weeks annual leave and 10 days study leave with $16,000 annual allowance Comprehensive relocation package and visa sponsorship for eligible candidates Opportunities to develop subspecialist interests Hastings Hawkes Bay Located on New Zealand's North Island East Coast, Hastings is the twin city of Napier and sits 18km inland.
