Sellick Partnership has been assigned to recruit a Risk and Control Manager for a successful and instantly recognisable business based in Manchester. The business has outperformed its competitors over the past few years and will continue to do so by driving their strategic plan, delivering further improvements and changes that will make a real impact on the whole business.
As Finance Manager for Risk and Controls, you will be responsible for:
1. Developing and embedding the Group Risk Management Framework as it applies to the Finance & Procurement teams.
2. Providing first line risk guidance and business support on financial control matters, including support with the ongoing Finance Transformation Programme.
General responsibilities:
1. Be the risk and control subject matter expert for the Finance & Procurement function, providing the key link with the Group Risk function.
2. Develop an effective risk control framework with colleagues across the Finance & Procurement and Group Finance functions.
3. Ensure the risk control framework is fully embedded into the function, with clear ownership of risk categories and KRIs, and a formal governance & monitoring process in place.
4. Work with the Group Risk function to ensure the risk management framework supports the enhanced UK Corporate Governance Code regarding Board-level monitoring & reporting of risk management and internal control frameworks.
5. Provide support to the team on relevant risk and control matters, including BAU and project activities such as the development of risk & control matrices for the Finance Transformation Programme.
Minimum Requirements:
The successful applicant will be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified and have a background in a similar risk and control role where you have developed and embedded a risk management framework. Experience of controls development and monitoring within a financial systems implementation project, particularly SAP, is essential.
You will possess good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and support teams across finance, coupled with building positive relationships with teams and leaders through to executive level across the business.
Ideally, you will have experience from a similar dynamic and complex business and have the ability to juggle multiple conflicting priorities, working to tight deadlines. More importantly, you will have the ability to build successful relationships with partners across the business.
If you consider yourself to be a committed, career-driven professional who can demonstrate the above experience and who would welcome the stimulus of this commercial finance post, then we would be pleased to hear from you.
