Position: Plumbing & Domestic Heating Level 3 – Apprenticeship
Location: Folkestone
Salary:
1. 16yrs – 17yrs: £7.71 (40 hours per week including time at college)
2. Over 18yrs: £10.71 (42.5 hours per week including time at college)
3. Over 21yrs: £12.21 (42.5 hours per week including time at college)
Tools, Chromebook, and uniform will be provided, along with an industry-recognized qualification and excellent benefits.
The Plumbing & Domestic Heating Level 3 programme will take up to 52 months to complete.

The apprenticeship course will cover the following:
* Health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and safe working practices
* Selection, planning, installation, testing, commissioning, service, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair techniques on cold water, hot water, central heating, above ground drainage, and rainwater systems
* Installation and testing techniques for electrical components and control systems on plumbing and domestic heating systems
* Principles of domestic mechanical environmental technology systems
* Principles of fuel combustion, ventilation, and fluing arrangements within a domestic environment
* Principles of high-quality customer service and establishing the needs of others
* Different communication methods and how to adapt communication style to suit different situations
What do you need to be a successful candidate:
* GCSEs in English and Maths grade 4 or above
* The ability and desire to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology, and safety procedures required
* You must live in Folkestone or the surrounding area to travel to the branch location each day
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships

To be considered for a Mears apprenticeship, all applicants must submit their CV and a Cover Letter detailing why you are interested in Mears Group and why you would like to be an apprentice. The closing date for applications is 31/03/2025. After this date, we will contact you to confirm if you have been selected for the next round, which would either be an invitation to an assessment centre or individual interviews.
Please note that you will be required to complete a basic Math & English test during the selection process. All roles require candidates to have the right to work within the UK; Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship. Candidates should be aware that all roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.
