Multi-Trade Specialist (Plumbing & Carpentry)

They are currently seeking a skilled Multi-Trade Specialist with expertise in plumbing and carpentry to join their growing team.
Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a versatile and experienced Multi-Trade Specialist with a strong background in plumbing and carpentry. The ideal candidate will adeptly handle a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role offers variety, requiring the performance of other general maintenance jobs, including redecorations, alongside primary carpentry and plumbing duties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, tiling, painting, and general handyman duties.
2. Diagnose and fix plumbing issues such as leaks and blockages.
3. Carry out carpentry tasks including fitting doors, installing cabinets, repairing furniture, constructing frameworks, and hanging fire doors.
4. Work on projects for landlords and letting agents, as well as commercial jobs.
5. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls.
6. Conduct inspections to identify and resolve potential issues before they become major problems.
7. Collaborate with other team members and contractors to complete larger projects.
8. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
9. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
10. Provide excellent customer service, addressing client concerns and questions with professionalism and a smile.
11. Undertake general maintenance jobs including redecorations, ensuring properties are kept in top condition.
Experience:
1. Proven experience in both plumbing and carpentry, with a strong bias towards these trades.
2. Relevant certifications or qualifications in plumbing and/or carpentry.
3. Experience in hanging fire doors and other specialized carpentry tasks.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
5. Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
6. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
7. Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
8. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
9. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
Additional Skills:
1. Additional experience in electrical work, tiling, or plastering is a plus.
2. Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
3. Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
