About the Role - The Project Manager (PM1) will work within Akkodis’s public sector division, focusing on central government initiatives. This role involves managing small-to-medium-sized projects and supporting senior project management on larger programmes. Core areas include coordination of managed services linked to SCIDA, secure communications, IT/IS installations, technical field support, and other technology-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
* Manage projects across their lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
* Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
* Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
* Manage & control the project costs & financial performance, including approval of timesheets.
* Facilitate stakeholder meetings to align project goals and address concerns proactively.
* Conduct root cause analysis for issues and propose corrective actions.
* Oversee project scope, risks, and changes, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
* Prepare and present status reports to clients and internal leadership.
* Promote best practices in project management and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Qualifications
* 2 to 4 years of experience in project management, project support, or project coordination.
* Proven experience managing projects in a public sector, government, defence, Engineering or Software environments.
* Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
* Client-facing experience with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
* Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and manage negative feedback constructively.
Required Skills

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
* Ability to work independently with some oversight.
* Root cause analysis and continuous improvement mindset.
Required Education
* A recognised project management certification, such as CAPM, Prince2, or APM, is preferred.
* Demonstrable understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
