As Project Manager, you will be delivering medium scale independent projects and/or workstreams within a programme of work aligned within an organisational domain.
You will lead the delivery of individual projects from initiation through to service transition, matrix managing all project resources and managing relationships/deliverables with third party providers and internal stakeholders.
Your responsibilities are to include:
1. Successful delivery of IT/Business projects including estimates, plans, resource management, schedule, scope, requirements, solutions, budget and deliverables.
2. Motivate and lead team members, driving team engagement through the provision of guidance, technical support and coaching of team members.
3. Quality Assurance of project deliverables across the project.
4. Supporting the Senior Project Manager in the allocations of resources across the teams.
5. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all key stakeholder across business and IT
6. Maintaining and communicating interdependencies from their Project within and across the Programme, and contribute to the Portfolio cross dependencies
7. Full budget accountability for projects
8. Resource managing your team and supporting resource allocations across teams.
9. Successful delivery of IT/Business projects including estimates, plans, resource management, schedule, scope, requirements, solutions, budget and deliverables; motivate team members and the overall team capabilities; providing direction and guidance
10. Track risks and issues in appropriate repositories and ensure their visibility to the people required to resolve them. Escalate risks and issues as appropriate.
11. Monitor overall project progress and manage any changes in project scope. Track financial performance of the project, including actual to budget tracking for labour hours and dollars, operating costs, and capital costs.
12. Communicate scope changes appropriately and gain authorization for additional funding as required.
13. Communicate project status, progress, and issues within the project team as well as to IT managers and staff, and to the business sponsor and business departments involved in the project.
14. Work with business owners, product owners, solution leaders and other stakeholders, as needed, to create a project charter, including the definition of completion criteria.
Skills and experience needed:
15. PMP, Prince 2 or equivalent certification
16. Agile qualification or experience
17. Demonstrable experience in managing IT projects and experience of shaping, scoping and delivering medium and large projects
18. Experience of procurement and management of 3rd party suppliers for services, software and infrastructure
19. Experience of working in a matrix function alongside Business, Service Architecture, Operations and Security functions
20. An outcome driven mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
