We are seeking a skilled and experienced Health and Safety Trainer and Assessor to deliver high-quality training and assessment to individuals and teams within the construction industry. Knowledge and experience of Streetworks would be advantageous as you will be working towards delivering this qualification.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering training courses, assessing learners' competency, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
* Plan, develop, and deliver engaging training sessions on construction safety, health regulations, and industry best practices.
* Conduct classroom-based, online, and practical on-site training sessions.
* Ensure training materials are up to date and in line with current legislation and industry requirements.
Assessment & Certification
* Conduct competency assessments for learners, ensuring they meet the required standards.
* Provide feedback, support, and guidance to learners to help them achieve their qualifications.
* Maintain accurate records of training and assessment outcomes.
Compliance & Industry Standards
* Ensure all training aligns with regulatory and accreditation body requirements.
* Stay updated with the latest construction safety laws, regulations, and industry developments.
* Conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure training environments meet safety standards.
Support & Development
* Provide mentorship and support to learners.
* Develop and implement training strategies to enhance learners’ understanding of health and safety practices.
* Work collaboratively with employers, regulatory bodies, and training providers to enhance the training offering.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant teaching and assessing qualifications (e.g., PTLLS, AET, TAQA, A1, CAVA).
* Health and Safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, CITB SMSTS) / Streetworks qualifications.
* Relevant industry qualifications and experience in construction.
* Experience in delivering and assessing NVQs or equivalent construction qualifications.
* Strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practices.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Strong assessment and mentoring skills.
* Ability to engage and motivate learners of all levels.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
