An opportunity has arisen for a flexible and motivated individual to join our Paediatric Medical Secretary Team as a Full Time Pathway Coordinator (Medical Secretary) to work 37.5 hours per week.
You will support the existing Pathway Coordinators and the team leaders in providing a quality and efficient service to Paediatric Consultants.
You will need to be an enthusiastic team player and motivated with excellent communication skills.
You will require high levels of organisation with the ability to prioritise your daily workload effectively and have a flexible approach to working alongside different members of the team or independently as required.
Responsibilities of this role cover a wide range of administration and secretarial duties including typing clinical correspondence, appointment scheduling, diary management and dealing with a wide range of telephone queries. A flexible approach to workload is essential.
Please Note – Interviews will include a typing test.
• You will need to be a passionate, driven and motivated team player with excellent communication & problem solving skills.
• You will require high levels of tact, diplomacy together with time management skills and flexibility.
• You will be providing a comprehensive range of secretarial, administrative and waiting list support to the Paediatric Consultants & Team.
• Administration and clerical duties including typing of clinical correspondence, dealing with queries from parents/patients and other health professionals and escalating issues to the operational coordinator.
• Responsible for the managing and organising of your own workload, you must be a confident communicator and able to liaise with clinicians and clinical staff and be able to multi-task.
You will have a broad range of administrative skills in particular:
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• An understanding of the 18-week RTT process
• Knowledge of the Trust Patient Access Policy
• Knowledge and familiarisation of medical terminology
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet and email systems
• Good keyboard skills
• Audio typing experience (desirable but not essential)
