Job purpose Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, the Supply Planner will be responsible for the Supply Planning process and execution for a specific category of products. The purpose of the role is to bring Supply Planning excellence to this key business category. The scope of this role covers the execution of all processes covering distribution requirements planning (DRP), order placement & management, inventory strategy & delivering against agreed availability targets. Entering a period of change management in systems and processes, the role will be integral to this activity and success of the transition. The scope of the role has the potential to change and develop during the maternity cover period. Key responsibilities Accountable for Supply Planning (S&OP/IBP) processes and execution to deliver the demand plan and availability targets for your business category Informing and advising stakeholders and management on the outlook for supply, highlighting issues, risks and opportunities. Conduct order planning and placement activity, including the end-to-end DRP (Distribution Requirements Plan), for your category of products – Through this process create Weekly/Daily Supply Plans and place Purchase Orders & Stock Transfer Orders in accordance with this plan. Manage & expedite all orders to ensure that availability targets are met Ensure that any Invoice Matching issues are resolved effectively Execute the availability Root Cause Analysis process for your category - Investigate stock outs and understand the process root cause issues. Help resolve these process issues. Manage and propose product substitutions where required. Own range change management for your category of products, i.e., manage phase in/phase out of all new products and products at the end of their life. Manage all returns/product uplifts as part of the range/promotional management process. Responsible for weekly reconciliation for off-line warehouses, ensuring accuracy of stock and transactions in the system. Supporting team on month-end stock counts. Manage supplier performance for your area - Track non-conformance issues and work with suppliers and Category Manager to resolve these problems. Responsible for liaising with Retail and Merchandising teams to support end to end integrated planning and engendering an integrated planning approach. Continually challenge the planning processes and principles in line with providing the best service and value for our customers. Person Specification Knowledge and skills Supply Planning experience, preferably using various different planning techniques Experience in a manufacturing/distribution planning environment Experienced in the use of using ERP systems as part of driving data driven decision making End to End Supply chain knowledge is desirable Thorough knowledge of Excel Intermediate IT skills: Outlook, Word, Powerpoint Experience working with ERP systems (Navision/Business Central/SAP etc.) Experience of using planning systems such as Netstock Specific aptitudes / skills Educated to Degree level preferred
