The post is most suitable for anaesthetists or physicians wishing to gain further experience in the sub-speciality of cardiothoracic anaesthesia and intensive care, though applicants with more basic level experience in anaesthesia or intensive care medicine will be considered.
Prospective cover for non-resident on calls and occasional resident shifts to support the resident anaesthetic rota.
Dedicated teaching time will be allocated to developing expertise in:
1. Echocardiography
2. Anaesthesia for cardiothoracic surgical procedures
3. Anaesthesia for interventional cardiology procedures
4. Critical Care
The post holder may have the opportunity to supplement/replace their Cardiothoracic anaesthesia sessions with other specialities based on their learning objectives and wishes.
