With the separation from National Grid largely complete, this is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Tactical Threat Intelligence Analyst to join us at National Gas at the early stage of our Cyber Security journey - working in Critical National Infrastructure, utilizing cutting-edge tooling technology, as part of a growing, highly talented team, with the opportunity to truly influence our direction of travel. Join us, and help be the energy behind the change. About the role: The threat detection engineering team adopt an intelligence led, engineering first approach to cyber defence. The Tactical Threat Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role in the detection engineering framework in terms of relevant attack vectors to focus on in the threat detection creation lifecycle. The role will have a great focus on identifying emerging threats, as well as on advanced persistent threats (APTs). Working with the whole of the threat detection engineering team, you'll provide technical threat intelligence, liaising with key stakeholders from around the business. To benefit vital operational areas such as Operational Technology (OT), providing actionable technical intelligence to our detection engineers, threat hunters and security operations functions. About you: You're a strong and proven subject matter expert in technical cyber threat intelligence, with high technical aptitude and a deep understanding of the current cyber threat landscapes. You have previous experience conducting research into cyber threat trends, including malware, vulnerabilities, and indicators of compromise (IOCs). You have excellent analytical skills and attention for detail, as well as impeccable stakeholder management ability, and a ‘get-things-done’ approach. You will also have experience researching novel and relevant tactics techniques and procedures (TTPs) and extracting key data and behaviours that can be used to build bespoke detections for security operations.
