RS&H is seeking a Civil Engineering Associate for full-time employment in our Glen Allen, Abingdon, or Salem Virginia offices.
Successful candidates will assist with various design-related assignments, varied analysis, and field duties on transportation projects primarily for state and local governments in Virginia and the southeast. Potential candidates include recent graduates with broad civil engineering coursework and working experiences.
Responsibilities include assisting in the development of construction plans, right of way plans, cost estimates, bid documents, various calculations, and quantity takeoffs under the direction of licensed civil engineers. Candidates with skills and coursework in multiple disciplines of civil engineering are desired. The successful candidate will be required to perform certain duties in a field setting, including active construction sites.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Basic knowledge of production software.
* Solid oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to effectively interact with and build relationships with others.
Special Requirements
* A valid Virginia driver’s license or the ability to obtain the license within one month of hire is required. A driver’s license records check, criminal history records check, and a fingerprint check are required. Successful candidates may be required to travel and perform physical duties associated with field assignments as needed.
