University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW)
This is a replacement, full-time (10 PA) Consultant Paediatric Radiology post based at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC). We wish to appoint a general paediatric radiologist to join the current team of 6 general paediatric radiologists to meet increased demand on the service. We provide specialist paediatric radiology services for hospital inpatients, Greater Bristol outpatients, and tertiary paediatric services for the South West. Neuroimaging is provided by neuroradiology colleagues from North Bristol with a separate on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work with the existing team to provide secondary and tertiary paediatric imaging and will be encouraged to develop a sub-specialty interest. They will be required to take part in the delivery of the emergency paediatric imaging services for the Trust. This will include all relevant modalities, including plain film reporting, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, and interventional procedures as necessary. They will also take a central role in MDTs and clinicoradiological meetings. We have merged with Western General Hospital and now provide paediatric imaging services for their patients on a remote basis, with no current plan for physical presence. Further alignment is happening with Southmead Hospital, North Bristol NHS Trust regarding neonatal imaging, and service provision may become part of future consultant job plans.
