A renowned industry leader in Reading seeks a seasoned Financial Reporting & Audit Manager to excel in a permanent role.
Key responsibilities:
* Consolidate monthly reports from multiple providers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and General Ledger reconciliation.
* Facilitate shareholder unilateral audits, engaging stakeholders, and coordinating information requests.
* Review and maintain financial risks and controls, policies, and procedures, and conduct internal compliance testing.
* Review, update, and create necessary financial policies and procedures.
* Collaborate with finance teams to explain financial results and support analysis for ad hoc unilateral requests.
* Review and prioritize audit requests, obtaining required information in a timely manner.
* Assess information quality, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
* Liaise with stakeholders to ensure audits progress smoothly.
* Create, update, and review unilateral accounting policies to ensure they are current.
* Provide ad hoc support to the financial accounting and reporting team.
Requirements:
* Newly or recently qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 years of industry/commercial experience.
* Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
* Recent audit experience with the ability to request audit samples.
* Strong process management skills with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and process streamlining.
* Good understanding of financial policies, procedures, risks, and controls.
* Experience in handling budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
* Strong understanding of auditing principles and practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working with multiple ERP systems and proficiency in Excel.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnership experience.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the Reading office and 2 days working from home.
