What you'll be doing:-
* Support and provide cover for the Payroll Manager in overseeing the accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees (currently 1,200 employees across 130 remote sites plus head office).
* Process payroll changes, including starters, leavers, pay amendments, contract changes, and TUPE transfers.
* Perform in-year equated pay calculations.
* Review and validate payroll data, including site timesheets, overtime, pay adjustments, and statutory payments
* Prepare payroll journals and ensure accurate payroll records are maintained for auditing and reporting.
* Assist in managing the companys pension schemes, including Auto-Enrolment and Local Government Pension Scheme compliance.
* Act as a key contact for payroll-related queries from employees and managers, resolving issues efficiently.
* Work with the Payroll Manager to improve payroll processes and efficiency.
What you'll bring:-
* Strong payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume payroll environment (1,000+ employees).
* CIPP qualification (or working towards) or equivalent payroll experience.
* Good understanding of UK payroll legislation, statutory payments, tax, NI, and pensions.
* Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (including formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables).
* High numeracy skills with strong attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, with confidence in handling employee queries professionally and with courtesy.
* Experience of TUPE, equated pay and IRIS Cascade would be advantageous but isnt essential.

Salary £37K - £45K per annum plus bonus
HOURS
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
