Step Teachers are seeking an experienced SEMH Teacher located in Thetford commencing in February 2025. This full-time position is for 1 month initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as a SEMH Teacher:
* Plan and deliver personalized lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH needs.
* Create and maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional and academic growth.
* Implement strategies to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development.
* Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and other professionals to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
* Track and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and external agencies to support each child’s development.
* Contribute to the development of individualized learning plans and behavioral support strategies.
* Provide a safe space for students to express themselves and develop coping mechanisms.
* Participate in school-wide activities and events, contributing to the wider school community.
To be considered for this SEMH Teacher position, you will:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience working with students with SEMH or additional needs.
* Knowledge of strategies and interventions to support SEMH students.
* Strong classroom management skills and a calm, empathetic approach to teaching as an SEMH Teacher.
* Ability to build trusting relationships with students who may have complex emotional and behavioral needs.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to professional development and a passion for making a positive difference in students’ lives.
