Job Role: Deputy Drawing Room Manager
Rate of pay: £39,800
Hours: 45 Hours
Location: South Ascot
Position Overview:
Be responsible for the smooth running of all services in the Drawing Room in conjunction with The Drawing Room Manager. Develop, implement and monitor sales, service and operational systems to provide seamless guest experience and maximise business potential. Act as an ambassador of the Hotel with guests, colleagues and suppliers. Deputise for The Drawing Room Manager in their absence.
Essential Functions & Physical Requirements:
1. Manage, lead & motivate the team to enhance performance, achieve business goals, financial budgets and service standards.
2. Mentor, train & coach team members including day-to-day coaching & OTJ training & formal training.
3. Manage shift coverage, work load & resource distribution within & across teams.
4. Monitor & evaluate team performance & conduct PDPs for team supervisors.
5. Interviewing, hiring, induction & succession planning of staff.
6. Manage departmental budget, P&L, Payroll.
7. Work closely with the Director, Food & Beverage to achieve efficient staffing levels and manage the desired levels of performance.
8. Conduct formal performance reviews with all staff to ascertain their performance, training needs and inspirations.
9. Responsible for the welfare and staff morale of a motivated team.
10. Develop, implement & monitor appropriate service & performance standards.
11. Ensure all procedures & day-to-day performance comply with legislative & hotel guidelines.
12. Identify, implement & monitor new standards to enable service excellence.
13. Manage & monitor an effective billing and cash management system.
14. Proactively monitor & respond to guest comments & feedback.
15. Drive innovation, identify & resolve issues & challenge current procedures.
16. Ensure the menu and environment is consistent with a luxury establishment.
17. Manage appropriate stocking & usage of linen, glassware, china & silverware.
18. Ensure all team members display excellence in personal grooming & hygiene.
19. Conduct sales & marketing activities to drive business growth & profit.
20. Monitor and control operating equipment, payroll and expenses against the P&L account.
Qualifications & Desirables:
1. Hotel School diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous luxury/5 star hotel experience.
3. Excellent knowledge of food and wine.
4. Customer oriented.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills.
6. Experience of complaint handling/problem solving.
7. Leadership experience.
8. Training skills.
9. Good listener.
10. Motivational.
11. Immaculate presentation.
12. Experience of POS.
