The Groups Conference and Events SalesManager (GC&E Manager) is responsible for driving Groups& MICE sales and the delivery of a client focused servicethat results in the achievement of business revenueobjectives.
This will be achieved through theprovision of a wellorganized and responsive booking servicealongside proactive sales initiatives the delivery of the productoffer the development of customer relationships and offering apersonalized and tailored event managementservice.
The GC&E Manager will alsomanage the daily operation of Event Planning to achieve or exceedbudget expectations. Monitors wages and expenses andmakes ongoing adjustments as needed to achieve goals. Ensures accuracy of Forecast and Pace reports and works to provideexcellent critiques for financial expenditure and departmentalperformance on a monthly basis
The GC&EManager will assist the GM & SM to energise and drive theteam with closing days demand generation weeks and other salesinitiatives. There will be a focus on driving standards across theteam which includes but not limited to; BEOs quality maintaining& evolving Eproposals/proposals data tracking (promotions& cross sells) and financials post masters (PMs) depositspayments & schedules and monthly hotel creditmeetings. They will provide excellent customer serviceduring every element of the event or group enquiry process; takingthe initial enquiry negotiating rates contracting and pre eventduring event and post event planning.
They willneed to be dynamic and have good attention to detail coupled withstrong selling negotiation & organisationalskills. Good communication skills are required tocoordinate with relevant hotel departments as well as the customerto ensure a seamless and consistent high level of servicethroughout the sales & event cycle. They will recogniseopportunities to maximize revenue through upselling conversion anddrive repeatbusiness.
Dayto DayResponsibilities:
* Overseesthe Event Planning function and related staff to ensure theplanning and delivery of successful hotelevents
* Develop a flexible sales strategy toreflect the achievement of hotel budget commitment and whichresponds to local market conditions
* Ensuresproducts and or services provided by Event Planning meet or exceedguest expectations and builds customer loyalty through product andor service excellence
* Take a proactive salesapproach and in line with strategy adapt sales solutions to meetclient needs and expectations
* Ensure onlinemeeting partner websites are regularly updated and managedincluding photos descriptions andpromotions
* Competitor analysis to be completedand recorded on a regular basis including: Promotions pricingavailability test calls and conferenceboards
* Ensure efficient management of enquiriesturn down and lost business to create future pipeline and repeatbusiness

* Carry out local research of potential newlocal business. Maintain records and ensure appropriatefollow up with your GM RSM and the Accor MICE salesteam
* To develop relationships with localclients direct bookers and agency bookers to ensure a strong baseof new and regular repeat business and to ensure confidence in thehotel and booking process
* Accurately identifycustomer needs draw up well presented and customised proposals inline with brand policies and standards ofpresentation
* Promote manage and host a regularprogram of client FAM trips and show rounds
* Tobe a key contact for the head office MICE sales team ensuringenquiries and RFPs received are replied to in a timelymanner
* Ensure all deadlines are met for allannual MICE RFP requests. Involve GM / SM in all potential highvolume requests to provide the best possible rates in the marketplace
* Proactively manage BOB against Budgetedtarget and identify need periods and undertake comprehensiveprogram of sales activity to secure new and ad hoc businessminimizing the impact of low activityperiods
* To set monitor and review personnelobjectives of your team
* Supervise the billingPayment guarantees Credit Policy andDeposits
Qualifications:
At least 2 years ofexperience in a hospitality sales role
