Are you an experienced HLTA who feels confident working with challenging behaviour? Teaching Personnel are working with a provision in the East of Bristol where the small achievements are big milestones. This school is a Primary SEN (Special Educational Needs) dedicated to understanding and meeting the unique needs of every child. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are curious about working with children, those with experience supporting adults with autism, or anyone ready to make a positive impact.
This is the ideal opportunity for those who have worked in mainstream education and are looking for something new. The young people in the community who have struggled to be on the right path need someone who wants to make a real difference in their life. The classroom sizes are no bigger than 8, allowing you to build genuine connections that may not have been possible in other provisions.
The role is full-time to begin in January and will continue for the rest of the academic year!
Position:
* Small class sizes of 6-8 pupils, creating strong relationships with the students
* Monday - Friday (08:00 - 15:00), full-time, term time only
* Temp to perm (contract) for the right candidate
* £100/day paid weekly (potentially more depending on experience)
* Accessible parking and bus routes
Requirements:
* HLTA qualification required, or equivalent
* Experience in the classroom, mainstream or in a SEN/SEMH setting
* Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
The successful candidate will:
* Be confident and proactive working with challenging behaviour and possess de-escalation qualities
* Be flexible and adaptable in challenging situations while being reliable and consistent to the school and students
* Have the drive and ambition to make a difference in a child’s education and confidence
* Be open-minded and understanding of individual situations, as all students come from different walks of life
The role is available now. If this seems like the next step in your career, please apply, and I look forward to speaking with you soon!
