Job Title: Logistics Operations Manager
Salary: £55,500 - £68,000 depending on experience
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
Contract: Full time & permanent
The Opportunity
As a Logistics Operations Manager, you provide guidance and direction to a team of experienced Logistics Operations to deliver operational performance and continuous improvement around critical KPI’s within a safety-first and quality-always, fast-paced manufacturing logistics environment.
What You Will Do:
As Logistics Operations Manager, your accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Lead a dynamic team of up to 100 logistics professionals, setting and achieving short-term goals that prioritize employee safety, engagement, and operational excellence.
* Drive continuous improvement by developing and executing strategic programs that enhance all warehouse functions in the short and medium term.
* Champion collaboration and values-based leadership to support all facility initiatives, including NPI programs, within a lean environment.
* Ensure top-notch process control and transactional discipline to maintain high standards of inventory compliance, process adherence, and governance.
What You Can Demonstrate:
Leadership and Logistics Management
* Guides and mentors others on logistics concepts and leadership behaviours, fostering an inclusive and visionary team environment. Develops and reviews logistics plans, manages processes through improvement and prioritization, and consults on major logistics operations.
* Leads significant projects by planning, estimating, staffing, and organizing, while identifying risks and creating contingency plans. Maintains open communication with project teams, sponsors, and clients, ensuring collaboration and support.
Warehouse and Inventory Management
* Maintains and improves warehouse operations by promoting teamwork, evaluating cost efficiency, and implementing mechanization techniques. Coaches on alternative distribution designs and replenishment planning.
* Coordinates daily inventory management across locations, devising benchmarks to improve processes, and resolving conflicts collaboratively.
What You May Have:
* Degree or equivalent experience desired.
* Experience working in a fast-paced and pressured environment.
* SAP transactional experience and a history of successful SAP implementations.
* History of cultural change management.
