We have a very exciting and rewarding opportunity for a full-time permanent Team Manager within our Care Experienced Team, working with 16-25 year olds who are eligible for services under the Leaving Care Act 2000. The Care Experienced team supports our young people to build stable and successful independent adult lives by helping them access suitable housing, education/training and employment, health services, leisure activities, develop and maintain positive relationships, achieve financial stability, and achieve their future aspirations. Each young person has a clear pathway plan detailing their needs in every area of independent living, to enable bespoke support to be provided.
As the team manager for our care experienced service, you will directly manage a team of personal advisors alongside the assistant team manager. Your role will be to ensure effective care planning for all of our young people and developing practices within your team to ensure key performance indicators are monitored and improved as these directly correlate to the outcomes for our young people. Torbay is a restorative organisation, and positive and trusting relationships are at the heart of everything we do to support our young people. You will lead your team in embedding restorative practice, promoting participation from our young people, working closely with teams across the local authority and partner agencies, and ensuring promotion of a culture of learning. There is real opportunity in this role to be creative and make a real difference in order to enhance the outcomes for all of our young people.
If you believe you meet the essential criteria for the post, have experience of managing a care experienced or cared for team, are efficient, creative, organised, and passionate about promoting positive outcomes for young people, I would encourage you to apply.
