The department fosters a strong commitment to the education and training of all individuals, where your development will be supported through enrolment on to the UCL diploma in General Pharmacy practice.
Main duties of the job
* Participation in multidisciplinary ward and board rounds delivering and promoting high quality, cost-effective, patient-focused prescribing and medicines use.
* Participation in practice and clinical research and audit.
* Participation in the education, training and supervision of pharmacy, medical and nursing staff and other allied healthcare professionals.
Job responsibilities
* To be a proactive member of the pharmacy department, working collaboratively with our diverse team of pharmacy professionals, and to provide excellent pharmaceutical care to our patients.
* To ensure the seamless transfer of care of our patients between various care settings and ensuring that medicines reconciliation is performed accurately at all times.
* To mentor and undertake the educational and practice supervision of pharmacy team members during their various stages of professional development, including Trainee Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy students.
Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (or an equivalent EEC body)
* Diploma / MSc in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)

* Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
* Demonstrates motivation & enthusiasm for the post.

Knowledge & Experience
* Hospital pharmacy experience
* Experience of working with nursing and medical staff and other health care professionals.
* Knowledge and application of current medicines legislation
* Experience of training other members of the pharmacy team
* Experience of completing audits or service evaluation projects
