Primary Purpose of the Position
Responsible for stock replenishment, stock control, checking prices and availability, and accountability for parts removed and used, as well as the implementation of a critical spares list. The main purpose of this stores position is to ensure the requirements for the production line are met and levels of stock are stored accurately and efficiently whilst maintaining detailed records on an internal IT system. Booking in stock across the site and liaising with Finance to raise POs for site services. Performing stock checks will be a regular part of this position alongside liaising with the production and delivery teams across the business.
Principle Accountabilities
* Respond to enquiries and correspondence via emails.
* Monitor stores and transactions including stock checks (critical spares, consumables, workwear, etc.).
* Maintain accurate and relevant stock levels and, where applicable, source new products from new suppliers.
* Accurate booking and management of components in the stores using SAP system.
* Raise and progress purchase orders including goods receipting.
* Update and maintain internal records to ensure data held on the system is accurate and audit ready.
* Resolve invoice queries in conjunction with the Finance Department.
* Resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
* Organize transport & time schedules for shipments and deliveries.
* Follow all relevant operation procedures and instructions for controlled and consistent work.
* Ensure items are easily located and provide support for stock items held onsite.
* Maintain housekeeping of the stores area for a clean environment.
* Obtain quotes from existing and new suppliers.
* Undertake any other duties or activities reasonably requested to meet departmental or company goals.
* Stock checking and maintaining accurate stock levels using the Agility system.
* Use initiative to order while being cost-aware.
* Data input into the Agility and inventory system.
Required Experience
* Ability to prioritize workloads and adapt to new challenges.
* Knowledge of stock ordering and stock control principles.
* Understanding purchasing principles and practices with appreciation of procedural compliance.
* Understanding of organizational Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work/operating procedures.
* Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) with good adaptation to new systems.
* Excellent communication skills, able to communicate via email, phone, and face to face with the ability to resolve issues.
* Ability to work without supervision and manage interaction with colleagues.
* Excellent organizational skills and effective team player.
* GCSE standard of education.
* Proficient with a range of Microsoft applications.
* Ability to use own initiative to make justified decisions impacting the business.
* Numerate and data rational.
* Ability to delight customers (internal and external).
* Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
