Customs Clearance Officer Required to join a leading UK freight forwarder at their site based in Tilbury. With over 30 years in the sector, this company specializes in imports and exports for all types of cargo across air, sea, and road freight.
In this position, you will focus primarily on the business's customs declaration operations, assisting with the facilitation of cargo movements across mainly ocean freight as well as road.
Customs Clearance Officer - Salary & Benefits
1. Salary dependent on experience - £27K - £32K
2. Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00

Customs Clearance Officer - Responsibilities
1. Being part of a team responsible for arranging a variety of import clearances for key clients, ensuring prompt processing to maintain a high level of service.
2. Liaising with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain and provide the necessary information to process customs clearances adhering to HMRC guidelines.
3. Offering guidance to customers on importing goods into the UK, including advice on commodity codes, customs procedures, and general import requirements for the UK market.
4. Ensuring work meets the required standards set by AEO-accredited freight forwarder.
5. Raising invoices, including Duty and VAT invoices, ensuring customers understand costs incurred through HMRC.
Customs Clearance Officer - Requirements
1. Minimum of 2 years' experience working for small to medium sized freight forwarders
2. Experience processing and completing entries using CDS, including deep-sea ocean freight
3. Experience in European road freight clearances.
4. Knowledge of FTA and Origin & Preference
5. Experience with CNS and Destin8 (the company uses multi-freight as their forwarding software)
