Job summary An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our busy team within Ophthalmology Day Surgery Unit, as part of Theatre Services. There is some flexibility and hours will be discussed at interview. This Vacancy is available for both novice and experienced Support Workers as specific in house training will be provided. This is a permanent post. Main duties of the job This post will involve assisting the registered practitioner in looking after adult and paediatric patients before, during and after their operation. The post will involve setting up and moving lots of different types of equipment including heavy theatre trays and patients on trolleys to ensure an effective and efficient service for patients. This post will involve Circulating duties as well as setting up Theatres for both Elective & some emergency procedures including but not limited to moving different types of equipment, instrument trays and patients on wheelchairs and trolleys. This is a physically and mentally demanding job and the successful candidate will have to prove they can be adaptable to keep up with this ever changing environment.
