Pastoral Officer
Prospero Teaching are recruiting for a Pastoral Officer for a ‘Good’ Ofsted rated Secondary School based in Poole, Dorset
Duties:
1. Delivering 1:1 learning and engagement sessions with students in their own homes, in school or on another site
2. Designing students timetables and learning experiences
3. Deal with pastoral and welfare issues
4. Support and work students and families to maximise learning
5. Continually maintain and develop pedagogic skills, subject understanding and knowledge of awarding body and subject specification requirements
6. Undertaking employer and workplace/work placement visits
7. Undertaking and meeting any relevant CPD requirements
8. General administration relevant to the role

Experience, Training and Qualifications needed for Education Pastoral Officer role:
16. Previous experience in education is required, ideally within the SEN Sector, although this is not essential providing you have the right attitude and desire.
17. Previous experience working with challenging behaviour would be advantageous
18. A passion for working with children with SEMH.
19. Pro Active in the classroom and a willingness to join in with class activities.
20. You should have lots of energy and enthusiasm with a positive attitude towards working with SEN students.
21. Level 3 Qualifications / ELSA Qualifications / Degree

23. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
24. Provide two professional child related references
