We are looking for an individual with an in-depth existing knowledge of RRT, the current education and quality assurance priorities and significant clinical experience. Alongside the current leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the aspirational, innovative vision of the team and the support & development of junior and senior staff.
The Recognise and Respond team supports a multi-disciplinary team caring for the urgent needs of the unwell patient. We are a team of highly skilled professionals who value every member within the team and the support provided by the leadership team is imperative to the successful running of the team.
You will be providing leadership and oversight on the running of the team day to day and a variety of educational courses such as the HCA study day, ACT study, ALERT course and more! Alongside this you will lead on safety and quality assurance projects across the team reporting into trust boards and committee’s responsible for patient safety, quality and improvement.
As a clinical leader you will be required to work alongside your response team colleagues in a clinical capacity to give assurance to care delivery and development of staff members within the response team. Dependent on skills and qualifications you will also have the opportunity to teach on courses and deliver bespoke training on request.
Working closely with your peers including the Response team leader and resuscitation officers you will provide an MDT approach to challenges and development opportunities.

You will lead and line manage the Rapid Response (RRT) teams; interpreting and implementing the Rapid Response team service guidelines for the management of the acutely deteriorating patient.
You will ensure the processes are in place to support the step up of emergency critical care admissions and step down of all critical care discharges, as set out within the Department of Health document ‘Comprehensive Critical Care’, the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine’s Guidelines for the Provision of Intensive Care Services and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Foundation Trusts’ Recognise and Respond Deteriorating Patient Team plan.
In addition you will work alongside the clinical leadership team on development and implementation of strategies to ensure the safe and appropriate management of Sepsis, AKI, NEWS2 and the deteriorating patient, throughout the Trust. You will develop approaches to audit the effectiveness of the relevant care processes instigated, then to work on measures to drive improvement.
You will work alongside other multidisciplinary clinical teams, to be a champion in the early identification and initial management of the deteriorating patient in the clinical environment, by ensuring education and adherence to policies pertaining to Sepsis, AKI and NEWS2. You will formally teach, coach and support staff in both the clinical and non-clinical environment and demonstrate exemplary practice in the use of relevant Trust policies.
In partnership with the Medical, Nursing and Operational Leads for the Trust to work with departments and different disciplines of staff to enable specific areas to plan, implement and drive improvement in relation to the management of Sepsis, AKI and deteriorating patients which will include liaising with primary care teams.
You will be responsible for the audit of the Sepsis pathway, analysis of the severity of Sepsis on individual case notes and ensuring accurate recording of this data.
You will also assist with the development of effective sustainable management pathways and innovative service delivery for Sepsis, AKI and the deteriorating patient. You will be able to build strong working relationships and partnerships with clinical staff, both within the Trust and externally, to promote collaborative working and comparable care processes across the primary and secondary care environments in relation to Sepsis management.
