About the Company - We are a boutique management consulting firm specialising in providing strategic advisory and transformation support to clients across Life Sciences, Manufacturing and Infrastructure sectors. Based in the UK, our team works closely with large organisations to drive impactful change through conceptualisation, design and implementation of company-wide Transformation programs. We pride ourselves on delivering innovative, results-oriented solutions and are seeking an experienced Engagement Leader Senior with deep expertise in to join our team and lead high-impact transformation engagements.
As the Engagement Leader, Business Transformation, you will be responsible for managing and delivering transformation projects focused on cost optimisations across several functions (Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, Customer Service) and implementing growth strategies. You will oversee 2–3 analysts and managers, ensuring successful project delivery and providing mentorship. This role requires a holistic understanding of large organisations and proven expertise in driving change through operational improvements, cost reduction, and growth strategy execution.
Location & Work Arrangement
* Hybrid: 3 days per week in our London office; remaining days remote.
* Some travel across Europe (estimate ~20%, project-dependent).
* London-based, full-time, permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership in Business Transformation
* Lead large-scale transformation projects focused on cost optimisation, process enhancement, and growth strategy initiatives across multiple functions (e.g., Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Operations, IT).
* Define project scope, objectives, and KPIs to ensure clarity in deliverables, quality standards, and timelines.
* Continuously monitor and report on project progress, mitigating risks to ensure successful outcomes.
* Lead teams of junior analysts and workstream leads to ensure deliverables are completed on time and under budget
2. Strategy & Operating Model Design
* Develop tailored business strategies that address organisational challenges, improve operational efficiency, and enable sustainable growth.
* Conduct feasibility analyses and build business cases for operating model redesign, highlighting potential cost savings and revenue opportunities.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define governance frameworks that align with the organization’s strategic vision.
3. Process Optimization & Technology Enablement
* Identify and implement best practices to streamline processes, eliminate redundancies, and standardize workflows.
* Lead process mapping and redesign workshops, leveraging continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
* Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that support efficient, scalable, and future-proof operations.
4. Client Engagement & Advisory
* Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with senior stakeholders, guiding them on transformation strategies, opportunities, and challenges.
* Create clear, visually compelling collateral (e.g., presentations, strategy roadmaps) to support decision-making at executive and board levels (mandatory)
* Provide objective insights and thought leadership to help clients navigate complex business environments.
* Ability to grow existing client relationships and identify new opportunities
5. Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement
* Develop and execute change management strategies and communication plans to secure buy-in for new processes and operating models.
* Facilitate alignment among various business units, managing expectations and resolving conflicts to ensure a unified transformation approach.
* Foster collaboration and ownership by engaging cross-functional teams throughout the transformation journey.
6. Team Leadership & Development
* Manage and mentor a team of 2–3 analysts and managers, providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
* Guide junior team members in consulting best practices, emphasising analytical rigor, stakeholder management, and effective communication.
* Encourage knowledge sharing and capability development within the firm, helping to build our internal IP.
7. Thought Leadership & Industry Insights
* Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements that impact cost optimisation, operational excellence, and growth.
* Contribute to internal and external thought leadership through white papers, case studies, or conference presentations.
* Continuously refine and evolve our consulting methodologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions for clients
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
* 12+ years of experience in management consulting, with a strong focus on business transformation, cost optimisation, and growth strategies in large organisations.
* Demonstrated track record of leading high-impact transformation projects that deliver measurable operational and financial improvements.
* Proven team leadership experience, managing and mentoring consultants and managers or cross-functional project teams (mandatory for this role)
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and articulate complex ideas clearly.
* Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including storyboarding and developing concise presentations for various audiences.
* Preferred experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) and/or project management certifications (PMP, Prince2).
