1060MARG IPC Planning Engineer (Technical Planner) Hinkley Point C, Somerset Contract, full time £380 PAYE-£520 UMBRELLA per day Job Title: IPC Planning Engineer (Technical Planner) Description & Background We are seeking an IPC Planning Engineer to join our team at Hinkley Point C, the UKs first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to UK Net Zero targets. The role provides comprehensive project planning and control support to the Project Team and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring project schedules are effectively managed while maintaining collaborative relationships across project disciplines. Principal Responsibilities Manage Level 2/4 (client) Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in adherence with HPC processes Produce and maintain schedule baseline in Primavera 6 (P6) Create fully logic-linked work plans aligned with Work Breakdown Structures Manage alignment of Level 3 (contract) schedules Provide time-related data and analysis Support IPC Planning Manager in developing planning standards and strategies Assist in Trend & Change process Generate performance indicators Identify and analyze time-related issues Coordinate and produce project-level schedule reports Ensure compliance with project governance and scheduling standards Protect sensitive project information in accordance with EDF policies Required Qualifications & Experience Essential Knowledge & Skills Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques Technical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction methods Ability to produce accurate, complete, and fully logic-linked construction plans Good working knowledge of Primavera P6 Understanding of Project Controls disciplines (Estimating, Cost, Risk) Knowledge of earned value analysis Understanding of NEC and FIDIC contract types Schedule risk analysis techniques Strong commercial awareness High-level analytical and numerical skills Excellent attention to detail Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Desirable Influencing skills. Ability to build relationships with Project stakeholders, and to act on behalf of the Programme Team as their representative. Qualifications & Experience Essential Minimum of a degree in Engineering, Construction or other related field, or HND or equivalent qualification with recognised experience commensurate with a degree. • Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status. • Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Scheduling role on a major construction project. • Experience in the use of scheduling software, ideally Primavera P6 version 7 and above. Desirable • Experience in the use of an earned value management tool such as EcoSys. • Experience of developing estimates and budgets for major infrastructure programmes. • Experience of working in a large integrated team over the full lifecycle of a project. • Experience in the use of a risk management tool such as ARM. • Experience in presenting complex information to senior executives and shareholders. • Experience in the Nuclear sector. Key Competencies The job-holder will be expected to have a working level of knowledge of, and to use, the following (or similar equivalent) software tools: • Primavera P6 (Scheduling). • Synchro (4D modelling).
