If you have a passion for support work and enabling customers to manage their homes and improve their lives - you belong at Bromford.
Every single one of our customers is unique. And so are you. Almost every choice you make here has the power to change someone’s life for the better. This is a big opportunity for you to make a real difference.
As a support worker, you will assist living in our young adults scheme, fostering a welcoming and customer-focused environment. Each day will be unique as you design and deliver tailored key work sessions on topics such as budgeting, savings, and benefits information, based on individual needs assessments. You will also guide customers to appropriate external agencies. Additionally, you will provide quality housing and support services to help sustain tenancies and promote independence.
You will work with local agencies to access any specialist support and signpost your customers to them, including debt and income support. You will engage with customers to build positive and inclusive relationships, whilst reviewing the impact of the support and the next steps needed.
You’ll be based at Woodlands, Telford, TF7 5UL. An Enhanced and Adult Barred List DBS check if required.
We want you to be somebody who:
* Has experience of working in social housing and support
* Is well organised, comfortable in making their own decisions and a problem solver
* Will meet the needs of customers, commissioners and the wider community, whilst ensuring that service delivery is in line with Bromford’s policies and procedures
* Will show confidence when articulating services to customers, colleagues, commissioners, and partner agencies
* Is comfortable reporting and maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information, including the handling of safeguarding concerns
* Feels that networking comes naturally to them – not only externally but internally too – and you can build relationships so people know they can go to you and trust you.
If you have previous experience as a support worker, mental health support worker, residential support worker, specialist support worker, care worker, a family or adult support worker, or something similar, we would be really happy to hear from you.
Closing date for applications is Wednesday 5 March 2025. Interviews will take place at Woodlands View.
