Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specialising in Chemotherapy to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and a thorough understanding of human anatomy. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
Responsibilities
* Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed by oncologists.
* Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after treatment, providing immediate care as necessary.
* Educate patients and their families about chemotherapy procedures, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
* Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatments, responses, and any changes in condition.
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures within the clinical setting.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with advancements in oncology nursing.
Experience
* A valid nursing qualification with current registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Previous experience in oncology or chemotherapy administration is preferred but not essential.
* Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to patient care.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide empathetic support to patients and families.
* Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when required.
