Here at MJ Quinn, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant to join the business. The position will be based in our Head Office in Knowsley, Liverpool.

Departmental Overview
The HR Team structure has a HR Director, HR Manager, 2 HR Advisors, 4 HR Assistants and a HR Administrator position.
Job Purpose / Primary Objective
Reporting into the HR Manager, the primary objective of the HR Assistant is to be responsible for all HR correspondence and documentation, and to act as a first point of call for HR related queries including Absence Management, Training & Development, Employee Relations, Performance Management.
Key responsibilities
* To be the first point of contact for HR queries.
* To provide advice and guidance to employees and line managers on informal and formal procedures.
* To support and advise managers with investigation meetings and to take notes.
* Responsible for all stages of onboarding for new employees including preparing all documentation, creating a team member record in the HRIS and conducting the employee HR induction into the business.
* Responsible for maintaining accurate records in the HRIS.
* To manage incoming absence cases and update the HR system, including absence administration and support with absence review meetings.
* To promote a positive and professional image of the HR department at all times adhering to company policies procedures and standards.
* Ensure that all employee data is accurately updated and maintained.
* Manage and prioritise own workload, including maternity cases, flexible work requests, probationary processes, leavers, variations, new starters etc.
* Produce offer letters, and contracts of employment.
* Prepare documentation for weekly inductions, co-ordinate diaries and run the induction sessions.
* Co-ordinate employee events such as team meetings, training sessions etc.
* Report/escalate non-conformities and complaints as appropriate.
* Maintain good customer relations.
* Answer telephone queries.
* Produce and distribute accurate notes.
* Travel to multiple sites on occasions.

To be effective in this role the HR Assistant will need to:
* Maintain and build up a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers and senior management teams;
* Be able to work efficiently independently and as part of a team;
* Be confident giving advice and influencing managers around aspects of employment law.
Skills
To be successful in this role the HR Assistant will:
* Have previous HR experience.
* May have a CIPD qualification, be working towards one or willing to undertake one if relevant.
* Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
* Strong administrative/organisational skills.
* A keen eye for detail.
* Be IT literate with a high level of competence in word and excel.
* Be able to demonstrate reliability in meeting objectives.
* Be proactive with a flexible attitude to work.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills – with the ability to work well with others.
* Have the ability to work under pressure in a busy office environment.
* Be educated to a G.C.S.E level C+ in Mathematics & English (or equivalent).
* A legal right to work in the UK.
