Company Overview
You will be joining a very well-established, prestigious and well-known Insurance Broker as their Assistant Management Accountant on a 12 month FTC (Maternity Cover). Part of a sizable finance team of 22, you will report directly into the Group Management Accountant who will be there to support you from day one. Based in their modern City of London office 3 days a week, you will have the option to work from home for the remaining 2 days, in line with the firms hybrid working model.
Role Responsibilities
In your new role, you will be responsible for assisting in the production of UK management accounts, compiling/posting journals to the General Ledger, performing monthly brokerage analysis, monitoring month/year-end accruals and prepayments, checking/releasing bank payments, re-rating assets held in foreign currencies, assisting in the preparation of Audit files for external auditors and analysing profit and loss accounts for taxation purposes. You will prepare bank reconciliations, perform weekly/monthly brokerage reporting and support with annual budget production.
Role Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role and ideally be coming from an Insurance or wider Professional/Financial Services background. You will be available to start at relatively short notice (June start date) and be comfortable with this being a contract role for 12 months initially. You will have experience using an Accounts software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and possess strong Excel skills (intermediate level including vlookups, pivot tables and sumifs). Commercial awareness of the FCA, basic VAT/Corporation Tax knowledge and understanding of basic technical insurance policies are all highly advantageous. Candidates will preferably be part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or will be qualified by experience. You must have outstanding communication skills, a demonstrable willingness to learn and a proactive, enthusiastic and can-do attitude.

You will receive an annual salary of up to £45,000 (depending on experience) + Benefits and this package will be regularly reviewed to remain in line with market rate.
