A leading accountancy practice, based in Cheshire, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. The company can offer career development and growth in a dynamic team. You would be key in supporting the management of a diverse client portfolio, preparing financial accounts, and covering various aspects of taxation. You will also be key to the development of junior team members and will be supported with career progression.
Job Description for the Senior Accountant:
* Client management for a portfolio of clients including individuals, SMEs, and larger organisations
* Key point of contact for client queries
* Preparation and review of financial statements, tax returns, VAT returns, and personal tax returns
* Compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines for annual filings and tax submissions
* Ability to stay abreast of changes within tax legislation allowing clients to be notified accordingly
* Taking the lead on preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
* Assisting and advising clients on budgeting, cash flow forecasting, profitability analysis, and financial planning
* Assist in mentoring, supporting, and advising junior team members to ensure career progression while reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuous improvement of internal processes to enhance efficiency and service
* Utilisation of accounting software
Requirements for the Senior Accountant:
* ACA or ACCA Qualification (or equivalent)
* Minimum of 4 years accountancy practice experience
* Experience of dealing with a varied client portfolio
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations
* Ability to prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns
* Experience in supervising and mentoring junior accountants
* Proficiency in accounting software: Xero and QuickBooks
* Strong, demonstrable IT skills, particularly Excel
* A strong communicator with good organisational skills
* A detail-conscious individual with great attention to accuracy
Hours:
Monday - Thursday 8:15 am - 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Salary:
£35,000 - £45,000 Per Annum
