An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven Production Shift Manager to join our team at our Boston site. In a varied role, the successful candidate will report to the Manufacturing Manager and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production related activities and the day to day running of its production lines that takes place across the site. Ensuring that our customers are satisfied and work is completed in a timely manner meeting delivery deadlines. The successful person will be responsible for helping attain the companies KPI’s and strategic goals by working with and supporting the companies Shift Leaders and the operations teams across the different shifts/areas. The implementation of training for existing and new employees in order to fulfil their roles as fully as possible whilst also allowing the flexibility that is necessary in our business. To ensure that the companies and our customers high quality standards are maintained and adhered to throughout and address any issues with defective or items that are substandard. To prepare and submit reports on shift performance, including metrics such as production volume, efficiency, and downtime, as well as introduce new measures to allow continuous improvements across the department to enhance our ways of working. Key Responsibilities: To maintain a safe working environment and ensure that all safety measures are adhered to. To strive to help the company and its employees reach their strategic business goals working with all stakeholders throughout the business. To oversee and implement an ambitious training programme for the department that will help ensure the future success of our operations and the company. To have a proactive approach to their work with their teams with a real desire to succeed. Deliver C.I projects that will enable the company to make necessary improvements where possible. What kind of skills are we looking for? Minimum of 3 GCSE grades C or above (Maths and English essential) To hold and be able to demonstrate at least 5 years working experience of working in a fast paced production facility, preferably within timber or a manufacturing environment. A proactive manager that works well under pressure and has the ability to think outside of the box to gain the best outcome. Must be computer literate Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential, have the ability to work using modern computer systems and databases. Excellent communication skills a necessity, to converse with stakeholders at all levels of the business and the companies customers and representatives. Lean Sixth Sigma qualifications an advantage. Good man-management qualities in gaining buy in for teams when implementing new measures/practices Excellent problem solving skills with a strong desire to find a solution when overcoming issues or potential obstacles.
