Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a Secondary Outreach SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small-group support for students who require additional help outside of a mainstream school setting. This role involves working across multiple locations, so a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance is essential.
As an Outreach SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support students with SEN, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), and additional learning needs in an outreach capacity.
* Work with students in alternative provisions, community settings, or their homes to provide tailored educational support.
* Assist with academic learning, emotional regulation, and social development.
* Implement individualised learning plans in line with EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
* Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to ensure students receive the right support.
* Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning.
* Provide behaviour support and implement de-escalation strategies where required.
* Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or students with behavioural needs in a school or alternative education setting.
* A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
* Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and education professionals.
* The ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
* A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance to transport students if needed.
* Rewarding role - make a real impact on the lives of young people who need additional support.
* Varied and flexible work - no two days are the same, offering a unique and fulfilling experience.
* Supportive team - ongoing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
* Potential for a permanent role - temp-to-perm opportunities available for the right candidate.
If you're looking for a meaningful role where you can support students beyond the classroom, we'd love to hear from you.
