Job overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner, who is interested in developing their managerial skills, to join us at Trafford CAMHS, as our Team Leader.
As a senior member of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will support the service to provide safe, effective care and efficient services to meet the mental health needs of children, young people, and their families. Key aspects of the role include monitoring the performance and quality of the service the team delivers. The post holder will provide clinical leadership and effective day-to-day management of the team, providing generic caseload and specific supervision. You will provide line management supervision including development and maintenance of CPD needs across the team. You will act as a specialist advisor within CAMHS and actively contribute to governance arrangements, contributing to policy implementation and service development, both within the service and across the wider network. You will undertake tasks as designated by the Service Manager and in line with Trust policy and local priorities to ensure continual quality improvement.
Main duties of the job
* To provide first line management for practitioners within the CAMHS service and manage staffing issues, communicating complex and sensitive information relating to conduct, performance, and sickness absence within the CAMHS team in line with Trust policy and procedure.
* To share responsibility for the development, provision, and continued maintenance of high-quality evidence-based practice within CAMHS. This includes, but is not limited to, the implementation of effective systems of appraisal and supervision, standards of record keeping, supervision outcomes, and modernization.
* Deputise for Service Managers as directed and for specified absence periods as needed.
* To keep the service manager and members of the senior leadership team informed of developments and issues within the service, ensuring the identification, recording, and use of relevant performance data.
Clinical
* To assume responsibility for management of a defined caseload and exercise the highest standards of professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of children, young people, and their families/carers using specialist knowledge and evaluation of care programmes in collaboration with children, young people, and their families/carers, liaising with and referring to relevant agencies as appropriate.

Person specification
Registration
* Must be registered with a professional body.
Qualifications
* Recognised Professional Qualification (e.g. RMN/RSCN/RNLD, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology).
* Relevant post-graduate qualification or training in area relevant to service delivery.
* Qualifications in Psychological Therapies to Diploma or Masters level e.g. CBT/SFT/IPT.
* Mentorship course ENB998 or equivalent.
* Leadership Qualification.
Experience
* Substantial experience of working effectively with people with mental health difficulties, including experience of delivering specialist skills in at least one therapeutic modality.
* Extensive experience of case management, including experience of assessing and managing risk, including safeguarding.
* Experience of developing and providing evidence-based assessments, formulations, and care plans.
* Experience of liaison and working with a range of other relevant agencies and professionals.
* Experience of staff management and evidence of managerial skills and knowledge.
* Experience of mentoring and supervision of others.
* Evidence of successful partnership working with other professional groups.
* Understanding of the principles of Clinical Governance and a willingness to follow Trust Policy and Procedures.
* Experience of working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
* Experience of providing interventions for children and young people with mental health problems and their families.
* Experience of working with wider stakeholder groups.
* Evidence of providing clinical supervision and training.
* Evidence of project management experience.

* Specialist knowledge of child mental health and relevant legislation in relation to young people and mental health.
