Our client, Bristol City Council, is looking for a Principal Health And Safety Consultant to join their team.
This post is for a 6 month period - starting asap. Rate up to £350 a day. 4 days a week on site in Bristol split between the Parks and Harbour Offices. Fully qualified NEBOSH Diploma evidence of CPD and experience of working in public sector.
Responsibilities:
1. Seek to appoint a Senior H & S Consultant to support services. The role is split between each service area: 2 days at the Harbour and 2 days working with Parks. The overall objective is to ensure that quality assurance and compliance activities and processes are in place to meet statutory obligations relating to the Harbour and Parks Estate.
2. Audit and stress test all current processes and documentation, devise and deliver a programme of work which will include a list of key specific tasks.
3. Prepare a forward H & S management system based on HSG65, including a profile of resources and service staff allocation to H & S compliance tasks.
Qualifications:
1. Prior experience with senior level stakeholder engagement and the ability to understand relevant policy and translate it into working arrangements.
2. A strong and consistent track record of successful service delivery outcomes across a range of services related to green and blue space.
3. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build effective working relationships and influence people at all levels.
4. Highly motivated with the ability to work off own initiative as well as in a collaborative environment.
5. Good decision-making skills and the ability to work at pace in a multi-complex and diverse service.
6. Demonstrable experience of start and finish project work for health and safety that are outcome-based.
