We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and dynamic Dog Grooming Specialist Learning Practitioner to join the Land-Based Team at our Kirkley Hall campus. This part time position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the education and skill development of aspiring dog grooming professionals, and to contribute to our vision to develop the provision within Dog Grooming, increase student numbers, and continue to improve the quality of our learners’ experience..
The role is based at Northumberland Colleges’ Land-based campus sited at Kirkley Hall, Ponteland. At Northumberland college we are committed to cultivating a generation of forward-thinking individuals who understand the complexities of modern business and are equipped to drive positive change in our communities. As a Dog Grooming Learning practitioner you will have the benefit of utilising our commercial Dog grooming parlour and the natural environments of the Kirkley Estate. You will be at the forefront of Dog grooming education, inspiring students to gain depth and breadth of understand of their industry
About the Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced, committed and passionate individual with a minimum Level 3 qualification in Dog Grooming and a background working with the industry. They will teach students based at Kirkley Hall Campus, on L2 and L3 grooming courses, as well as industry short courses and master classes, depending on their qualifications and experience.
They will plan, promote, deliver, monitor and evaluate their teaching and the progress of their learners. They will create and cultivate strong links with employers to ensure that all students gain and outstanding experience. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Teaching qualification is preferred and a willingness to work towards one is essential.
