Job Description
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide administrative support within the Advanced Training team at Earlham Institute. The team coordinates the Advanced Training programme, which delivers high-quality, specialist training and development opportunities to the UK and international research community.
Main Activities & Responsibilities
1. Assisting the Events Manager and Head of Advanced Training with registration processes for events, including setting up registration forms, monitoring registrations and related procedures (20%)
2. Coordinating logistics for on-site and virtual events including catering, transportation, travel and accommodation requirements for external parties, and generating printed material such as delegate name badges (20%)
3. Handling general enquiries and liaising with event participants (phone and email) (20%)
4. Raising invoices and monitoring payments (20%)
5. Collating feedback into spreadsheets for reporting statistics following templates (5%)
6. Providing on-the-day support for events, including being proactive and troubleshooting where necessary to ensure smooth running of events, whether on site or virtual (5%)
7. Other duties as agreed with the line manager (10%)

Education & Qualifications
Requirement: GCSEs or equivalent, grades A*-C/9-4, including English and Maths (Essential)
Specialist Knowledge & Skills
1. Ability to prioritise a heavy and diverse workload (Essential)
2. Excellent time-management skills with the ability to perform under pressure (Essential)
3. A high degree of attention to detail (Essential)
4. Excellent computer literacy including MS Office programmes, in particular Excel (Essential)
5. Familiarity and competency in event management software (Desirable)

Additional information:
Salary on appointment will be within the range £23,250 to £25,400 per annum, pro-rata depending on qualifications and experience. This is a part-time post offered for two years initially with potential for extension.
