Summary
Senior support worker to join our Domiciliary Care Team with aim of being trained to be a care coordinator and being part of our highly successful and dedicated management team.
Duties include:
* To act as a facilitator/leader for a team of care workers
* Training for rota Management/ using an electronic rota management system
* Supporting with the recruitment process
* Exceptional organisational skills to support a fast-paced environment
* Participate in out of hours on call support on a rota basis
* Facilitate staff supervisions and appraisals
* Complete risk assessments for Staff and Service Users
* Completing regular staff spot checks
* Excellent knowledge of the care inspectorate compliance and maintaining this at the highest level
* Completing Service User reviews and service checks
* Problem Solving
* Providing shift cover when required/Allocate suitable alternative carers when an existing carer notifies you that they are unable to attend a call.
Working hours
Typically, will be expected to cover shifts in the community with dedicated time during the week for training to be a care coordinator. The candidate must be flexible as may involve covering for a support worker out in the community anytime between 8am to 11pm.
30 minutes lunch break
Salary £12.50 per hour with enhanced weekend rates
Paid mileage if using own vehicle
What you will do: To ensure that all individuals who receive a service within the allotted area are never left without care and support, training of using care planner will be provided. To accurately record information relating to individuals who use the services and workers within the teams’ area informing the registered manager of any change in circumstances including missed calls. To take responsibility for emergencies that occur in their area and where necessary decide upon appropriate action.
To be flexible in their role and able to support service users/ staff as required. To provide formal supervision and Individual performance reviews to support workers within a particular area in line with Potters policies /Aberdeenshire council/Care inspectorate.
To complete risk assessments on site with staff members with support from Domiciliary Care Coordinator / Domiciliary Care Manager as necessary. To undertake direct observations with all staff members in their area.

Requirements:
* Previous experience in similar role essential would be ideal
* Ideally be working towards a health & social care diploma or further academic qualifications in the social care arena
* Must have a full driving licence valid in the UK and access to own vehicle.
