We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated registered Nurse to join a busy and well respected Integrated Learning Disability Service, which covers the Lancashire locality.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain wide-ranging experience of community services for people with learning disability. This service strives to provide forward thinking high quality services, working in partnership with other agencies. In addition to working with people with learning disabilities, their families and carers we have a strong commitment to health promotion through service development and training initiatives.

We are looking for a registered Nurse with an up to date knowledge of health policy for people with learning disabilities. Adaptability, good communication skills and self –motivation are essential.
The Community Learning Disability Team in Pennine is a friendly supportive multi-disciplinary team based across 3 sites; Darwen, Accrington and Burnley. We pride ourselves in our holistic approach to supporting the health needs of adults with learning disabilities and our drive for continuous service development across all professions. We meet monthly as a whole team alternating virtual and face to face meetings.
To support the provision of a community service to individuals with a learning disability in a defined area of Lancashire, in order that health care needs are met and contractual agreements fulfilled.
A registered learning disability nurse, with knowledge of health policy and legislation applicable to people with a learning disability and/or Autism. Adaptability, good communication skills and self–motivation are essential, alongside skills in working with people who have complex health needs, challenging behaviour and/or Autism, including demonstration that practice is evidence based and innovative.
The post holder will be responsible for a defined caseload alongside supervision of junior members of staff.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
