£450 per week
We are seeking a skilled 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil in either EYFS or Year 3 who has a diagnosis of autism. The successful candidate will support this pupil on a 1 to 1 basis but also working with small groups of pupils and in the classroom setting. The successful candidate would be expected to support pupils with social communication difficulties, speech and language needs and learning needs.
You will be working at a lovely mainstream shcool based in Waltham Forest. They are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant with a "can-do" attitude who is committed to raising standards for those they work with. You will need to have an ability to work flexibly and with enthusiasm. You will work in partnership with class teachers and the SENCO, to support learning in line with the National Curriculum, codes of practice, school policies and procedures.
The successful candidate should have the following:
* Experience of supporting children in either a school ore care setting
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Experience of supporting pupils with a range of needs e.g. Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Learning and speech and / or language difficulties
* Able to support the child(ren's) medical needs and willing to deal with intimate care needs
* Is able to demonstrate patience, calmness and flexibility at all times
* A commitment to high achievement from pupils and themselves
* Excellent organisation and inter-personal skills
* Flexibility and a good sense of humour
* The ability to use their own initiative
* Willing to undertake training and support individual needs
