We are seeking a proactive and technically strong finance professional to head our team of management accountants in providing financial and operational insight that will support organisational decision making. With demonstrable experience of planning and managing the annual budget cycle, periodic reforecasting and detailed analysis of performance, you will have a key role within our finance department. In this role you will have the opportunity to: To plan and manage the annual budget cycle, including providing stakeholders with proactive support and advice in order to achieve robust plans that support strategic aims Manage periodic reforecasts based on stakeholder engagement, data and insights Head the team in production of accurate and timely management reports, including detailed variance analysis and commentary Actively set the direction and manage the performance of the team of management accountants, including objective setting, development and training. As an experienced manager, you will lead by example and support the team in the provision of high quality support to stakeholders across the organisation Qualifications, Experience and Skills A fully qualified accountant (CCAB). Experience of financial management in a higher education setting will be beneficial Demonstrable experience of preparing budgets and forecasts and subsequent performance reporting Ability to interpret, reconcile and explain complex financial information from a variety of sources such as excel and report writing tools, ensuring reporting is appropriate to stakeholders Experience of managing teams, with the ability to motivate and communicate clearly and effectively A commitment to continuous improvement For full details of the role, and the skills and abilities required, please see the attached job description and person specification.
