As part of our internal re-organisation to strengthen the support to the newly created care group structure of Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, we are looking to recruit an experienced Deputy Director Safer Care.
The post holders will work in partnership and will work closely with the Care Group leadership structures, and wider trust to create an environment which promotes and supports safety for our patients, staff and visitors ensures we are providing right care for the right patients and that service users and their carers experience is captured understood and responded to.
To ensure that key safety management functions are implemented and embedded throughout NSFT, which is instrumental in reducing harm and maximises learning, and by so doing positively influences the Trust's position which provides the greatest level of assurance in relation to the Care Quality Commission (CQC), National Health Service England (NHSE), NHS Resolution (NHSR) and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Main duties of the job
To work with the Director of Safer Care (patient safety and safeguarding) and Chief Nurse in taking forward the strategic and corporate agenda for Patient Safety Incident Reporting Framework (PSIRF). Develop strong engagement with staff and patients, to help grow the understanding of safer care in order to inform and measure future improvement.
To ensure that patient experience & intelligence from safety incidents informs future plans for service redesign and service improvement via a network of patient experts including Patient Safety Partners.
To promote equality and diversity in all aspects of service delivery.
As the senior leader for safer care in the organisation, the post holder will work with many people who already have specific patient safety responsibilities and they will support the Director of Safer Care (patient safety and safeguarding) in supporting and overseeing work to make patient safety a core element of training for every member of staff in the Trust.
