Do you enjoy looking after older school aged children?
A wonderful three day role has become available working with a professional and friendly family in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Although the parents sometimes work from home, this will be a sole charge role.
They are seeking a reliable, experienced and active nanny to join their family and provide excellent care for their children – a girl aged nine and her brother who is aged six.
The children like to have fun and be active, enjoying sports and playing in the garden, as well as activities at home such as playing games and arts and crafts. They have a friendly dog who is also part of the family.
As well as engaging with the children in their hobbies and interests, working with the children to help with homework, encouraging good manners, behaviour and healthy eating will also be part of the role.
The hours of the role will be 12.00-21.00 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (27 hours/week). There could also be some ad hoc babysits and additional days, but these will be mutually agreed separately and paid as overtime.
In the school holidays, the parents would like you to take the children on fun and educational day trips and activities, meeting up with their friends to help them to socialise, always keeping them happy and safe.
Before collecting the children from school or their clubs each day, you will have time to help keep them organised. This includes tasks such as general childcare, the children’s laundry, keeping their bedrooms and playroom organised and tidy, ensuring they have everything they need for the next day (lunches packed, uniform prepared, etc). Although there is a weekly cleaner, any help to keep the house running smoothly would be appreciated (keeping the kitchen tidy, emptying the dishwasher, running the occasional errand, etc). The dog would also appreciate a walk round the block each day.
You will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the children each day, preferably homemade whenever possible.
At the end of the day, you will leave all used rooms tidy, ready for the parents to take over.
You should be a careful and confident driver with a clean driving licence and your own fully insured car. Duty mileage will be paid.
If you have a genuine love for working with children, an understanding of their individual needs and the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment, this could be the perfect role for you.
