About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven sales leader to drive our growing enterprise accounts sales team within our UK Government sector business. This role is pivotal in managing and expanding a portfolio of enterprise customers in central and local government, currently generating approximately £30 million in annual revenue, and driving new business acquisition. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving revenue targets, developing strategic account plans, and ensuring accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales professionals to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
* Establish and manage clear goals and performance metrics to foster a high-performance culture.
* Provide strategic guidance in deal structuring, customer engagement, and contract negotiations.
* Promote a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
Customer Growth & New Business Development:
* Formulate and implement strategies to enhance revenue streams within existing UK Government accounts.
* Identify and secure new business opportunities within the UK public sector to expand our market presence.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior government stakeholders, procurement officials, and key decision-makers.
* Leverage partnerships with technology vendors and industry associations to strengthen market positioning.
Financial & Business Performance Management:
* Assume responsibility for meeting revenue, margin, and pipeline targets.
* Deliver precise sales forecasts, pipeline analyses, and financial performance reports.
* Ensure effective management of the sales cycle from lead generation through to contract finalization.
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators, providing insights to senior leadership.
* Stay abreast of UK government digital transformation initiatives, procurement trends, and technological advancements.
* Analyse competitor activities and adjust sales strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
* Represent Version 1 at industry events, conferences, and relevant government forums.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Substantial experience and demonstrated success in sales leadership within IT services, specifically targeting UK central and/or local government sectors.
* In-depth knowledge of government procurement frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, Digital Outcomes & Specialists, Crown Commercial Service agreements).
* Proven experience in managing sales teams and driving performance to meet and exceed targets.
* Proficiency in developing and executing strategic account plans.
* Strong financial acumen with experience in sales forecasting and financial reporting.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills at senior government levels.
* Familiarity with Digital Transformation, cloud, data analytics, and AI is advantageous.
